Ever wondered who runs the Internet services and domain names in New Zealand ?. Well no i imagine (unless you are there) but the news is that they have had an meeting to decide … Their name is too long. Currently known as The Internet Society of New Zealand and trades under the name InternetNZ but another problem is The “Society” has never been an official member of the International Internet Society (ISOC). So this could, potentially, cause confusion for example at the United Nations. To solve both of these “problems (had to be in brackets i dont think its really a problem) the proposed official name change would be to “New Zealand inc”.

InternetNZ, and its accompanying branding, will remain, and continue to be the organisation’s public face in New Zealand.
