For me web browsing on a mobile (well mine at least) doesn’t fill me with much joy. Before today the developers of sites to suit mobile phone browsing would tend to agree with me. Until today developers and enterprises had to sift through hundreds of handset specs to develop sites to fit each. Step in dotMobi with DeviceAtlas a comprehensive database of global mobile handset information.
As you would expect the big names in the industry are right behind dotMobi, Nokia, Vodafone and Volantis to name a few i would anticipate it to be either a big success or a huge flop.
DeviceAtlas comes in three different versions at present the premium being $299 a year for updates anytime (very useful), $149 for weekly updates and $99 for a monthly update.
I shall wait for the .mobi system to be in full operation before venturing into the mobile phone Internet market (i like my 21 inch monitor too much i guess) but good news for the industry.
