eBay shops are relatively hard to find via a search engine; blogs, properly optimised, are not. Go figure. I’ve been thinking for a while now that blogging could be a very effective way of promoting an eBay shop.
Supposing you’re selling domain names on eBay. It can be quite a good way to do it, as it’s a relatively new technique, and it seems as if eBayers aren’t really sure yet how much they should be paying. If you have a domain you’re having trouble getting rid of, eBay might be the spot to sell it to an impulse buyer.
Anyway, supposing you’re selling domains names on eBay. It wouldn’t be too much hassle to set up a blog with an appropriately keyword-rich domain name, on which you post all your new items for sale. You could intersperse it with general domain news and your eBay experiences, or whatever, but the point is that you’ll have an RSS feed that your shoppers can subscribe to which will remind them that you have domains for sale.
Obviously it would work with any eBay shop. I have seen a few eBay journals, but not a domain one yet, so I suppose a new blogger might be able to corner the market.
